Course Content

Get Started with Power BI (Concepts and Main features overview)

  • Bring in the data (Connect to Data Sources)
  • You will see an overview of data sources Power BI can connect to, explore the practical application, and create connections to bring data into your model.

Manipulate the data (Transform and query using Power Query Editor)

  • Change the shape and form of data once added to your model. Manipulate it with ease into the format you reporting required. This skill is transferrable to Excel as a bonus for learners.
  • (Includes: Cleansing data, transformation, combining data and more)

Relate data together (Working with Relationship View)

  • Learn how to bring data that exists in multiple places (Tables, datasets, and stores) together to create a meaningful and rich data model ready for your reports and dashboards.
  • (Includes: understanding relationships, creating relationships, join types and more)

Present the data (Visualisations)

  • You will learn how to create visually appealing reports or dashboard based on the data you connected, manipulated, and related during the prior modules.
  • (Includes: Matrix, Conditional formatting, KPIs, Slicers, Drill down, Maps and more)

Using Power BI Service

  • Understand how reports are published and presented to users.
